Turkana County steady improvement in terms of security

In the past one year, Turkana County has registered a steady improvement in terms of security, credit to the ongoing Operation Maliza Uhalifu. 
CS Kithure Kindiki has however acknowledged the occasional attacks in the areas surrounding the Turkana-West Pokot border and near Kenya's border with Uganda and South Sudan, to which the government has now turned special focus in an effort to smoke out the remaining bunch of armed criminals.
Even so, the CS has reiterated that security personnel will maintain presence and secure the gains made so far, with a group of National Police Reservists (NPRs) deployed to complement the the work of formed units along the Kitale-Lodwar Highway and several other areas within the County.
He was speaking in Lodwar Town after a briefing with the heads of various security agencies.
