Kenya reaffirmed its continental leadership in cybersecurity by hosting the Third African Forum on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence in Nairobi. Presiding over the forum, Internal Security and National Administration PS Dr. Raymond Omollo warned of a surge in sophisticated cyber-enabled crimes across Africa, driven by legal gaps, weak enforcement and limited cross-border cooperation.
Dr. Omollo called for coordinated, international responses to strengthen detection, deterrence and prosecution, noting that Kenya’s rapid digital growth—among the world’s ten fastest—has expanded both opportunity and risk. He emphasized urgent reforms, stronger interagency collaboration and deeper global partnerships to secure digital platforms and build trust across borders.
