CS Murkomen Says Haiti Mission a Success as He Receives 230 Returning Officers
Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen today welcomed 230 officers returning from the Multinational Security Support Mission—now the Gang Suppression Force (GSF)—in Haiti.
Speaking at the National Police College, Embakasi A Campus, CS Murkomen hailed the mission’s success, noting it demonstrates the professionalism, discipline, and dedication of Kenya’s police officers. He recalled that the mission began in June 2024 under the direction of then-CS H.E. Kithure Kindiki and praised the officers for upholding integrity and respect for the people they served.
The CS also honored three officers who lost their lives during the mission, offering condolences to their families. A new contingent of 230 officers has since deployed to Haiti to reinforce the GSF, in line with President William Ruto’s commitment to a smooth transition.
CS Murkomen was joined by National Security Advisor Dr. Monica Juma, Inspector General Douglas Kanja, Deputy IG Eliud Lagat, DIG (APS) Gilbert Masengeli, and other senior officials.
