President William Ruto today presided over the graduation of 1,837 Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘A’ Campus, Nairobi.
The officers, who completed induction, paralegal and security management training, form the third cohort under a programme that has now trained 5,892 administrators nationwide. The initiative aims to professionalise National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) and strengthen grassroots governance, service delivery and security coordination.
Addressing the graduands, President Ruto reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continuous professional development, noting that the last formal training for NGAOs was conducted in 2016. He praised chiefs for their role in implementing national programmes, including the digitised farmer registry that has enrolled over seven million farmers.
Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen said the training follows nationwide consultations under Jukwaa La Usalama and is part of broader reforms to modernise public administration and support the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The reforms will be formally launched tomorrow at State House, Nairobi.
