When British statesman and wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill made the wry comment about the lightening speed of lies versus the slower and more measured movement of truth; bloggers and other pseudojournalists of today were non-existent.
If Churchill were alive today, one wonders with bated breathe, what the great orator would have made of the now eerie world of bloggers and social media that has turned out to be the archetypal two-faced Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde of modern day communication.
Monday 2nd February, the Interior Cabinet Secretary Major Gen (Rtd) Joseph Nkaisserry together with the Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and IG Joseph Boinnett hosted His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta who commissioned the Armoured Personnel Carriers acquired for the National Police Service to increase their mobility and also offer protective gear when deployed in volatile areas. These are some of the measures we have taken to secure this country
Since we opened this medium of communication, Kenyans have brought to our attention a number of issues that need to be addressed. One of them is the delay in issuance of identification cards, a very crucial and vital document for Kenyans.

In the last couple of days, there has been incidents of criminal gangs attacking some taxi operators in certain parts of Nairobi.
The Police have launched investigations into the cause and nature of these attacks and will ensure those behind the attacks will face the full wrath of the law.

Yesterday , we put out a request and called on those who have a waiting cards taken before December 2015 to forward the details to the Cabinet Secretary Major General (Rtd) Joseph Nkaisserry or Myself on our public numbers. However, before we embark on this process, below we the statistics of the yet to be collected identity cards per region.
