In an effort to secure Kenya, the Ministry of Interior as a launched WhatsApp messaging for both Principal Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for easier interaction with Kenyan citizenry.
The Interior Ministry has also provided the public with two numbers which will be used to report security or graft issues inform of Short Messaging Service (SMS) only.
Kenya Police force will for the first time in history acquire armoured personnel carriers to increase their mobility and protective gear when deployed in volatile areas, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
He said the purchase of the armoured personnel carriers is a very important milestone as it will go a long way in securing the frontier areas of the country.
“You don’t have to depend on the military or other security agents for you to perform your duties, we will ensure you are properly equipped,” said the President.
Nigeria’s President , Muhammadu Buhari and his counterpart from Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohammud are set to join Our President His Excellence Uhuru Kenyatta at the Moi Barracks in Eldoret for a memorial service and prayers for the fallen soldiers of the El-Adde attack in Somalia.
The interdenominational prayers will be held in Eldoret from where most of the fallen heroes served under the 9th Kenya Rifles Battalion. The soldiers were part of an African Mission in Somalia (Amisom) team deployed in the war-ravaged country.
His Excellency, President Uhuru Kenyatta lauded the US government for supporting Kenya’s wildlife conservation.
President Kenyatta acknowledged the closer working partnerships between the two countries in the fight against wildlife poachers and traffickers that posed a threat to Kenya’s world famous game.
The President said cooperation in wildlife conservation programmes, present a new area for enhancing the existing cordial relations between Kenya and the US.
